About Scream Star-Media – Wedding Photography & Videography in the North West
Scream Star-Media is a photography and videography team based in Accrington and Manchester, working with couples, musicians, and brands across the North West of England. Founded in 2020 by creative partners Reece and Ben, the studio specialises in hybrid wedding photography and videography, offering couples the ability to capture both photo and film coverage from a single collaborative team.
What makes Scream Star-Media different is the hybrid approach. Instead of hiring separate companies for photography and videography, couples can work with a two-person team who are used to working together creatively. This allows weddings to be documented naturally and unobtrusively, while still producing cinematic films and storytelling photography. The aim is simple: capture the atmosphere of the day without turning it into a production.
Reece has been working with photography professionally since the age of 18 and has photographed weddings on and off for over a decade. Alongside this, he has spent the past five years working professionally as a graphic designer and marketer, giving him a strong understanding of visual storytelling and brand identity. His background also includes an MA in Photography, building on earlier film and television studies.
Ben studied Film and Television Production at the University of Salford, after originally meeting Reece while studying the same subject at Runshaw College. While weddings have recently become a larger focus, Ben’s background in film production brings a cinematic approach to the video side of Scream Star Media’s work.
Together they combine their backgrounds in film, photography, and visual storytelling to produce work that feels natural, cinematic, and personal to each client.
While weddings are now a core focus, Scream Star-Media also works regularly in the live music and creative industries, producing live music photography, editorial imagery, commercial photography, music videos, and album artwork for artists across the North West. This experience working with musicians and live performances heavily influences their wedding work, helping them capture moments as they happen rather than staging them.
Based between Accrington and Manchester, Scream Star-Media covers weddings and projects throughout Lancashire, Manchester, and the wider North West, and is happy to travel further when required.
Whether documenting a wedding day, a live performance, or a creative project, the goal remains the same: to create honest visual work that reflects the people and atmosphere behind it.
Ben - Director/Videographer
Ben leads the videography side of Scream Star-Media, bringing a cinematic perspective to weddings and creative projects. Originally meeting Reece while studying Film & Television Production at Runshaw College, Ben later went on to complete a BA in Film and Television Production at the University of Salford.
With a strong background in filmmaking and visual storytelling, Ben focuses on creating cinematic wedding films that feel natural rather than overly staged. His work captures the movement, sound, and atmosphere of a wedding day, complementing the photography and helping couples relive the experience long after the day itself.
While weddings are now a major focus, Ben also works regularly within the live music and creative industries, producing music videos, live performance footage, and visual content for artists across Manchester, Lancashire, and the wider North West. This experience filming musicians and live events brings an energy and documentary style to his work, allowing real moments to take centre stage.
Ben also brings a strong understanding of audio recording and editing, developed through years as a former heavy metal drummer. His experience performing and recording music gives him a natural ear for rhythm, timing, and sound design, helping ensure the audio side of Scream Star Media’s films feels as polished and immersive as the visuals.
Working together as a hybrid photo and video team, Ben and Reece capture both film and photography seamlessly, giving couples a cohesive visual story of their day without needing to hire multiple companies.
Reece - Director/Photographer
Reece is the photographer behind Scream Star-Media and has been working with cameras since the age of 18. Based between Accrington and Manchester, he has spent over a decade developing a documentary-style approach to photography, capturing weddings, live music, and creative projects across Lancashire and the wider North West.
After studying Film & Television Production at Runshaw College and later completing a Master’s degree in Photography, Reece continued building his creative career through freelance photography alongside professional work in graphic design, marketing, and digital media. This broader creative background shapes the way he approaches photography, combining visual storytelling with an understanding of design, motion, and how images communicate.
While Reece primarily leads the photography side of Scream Star-Media, his background across video production, motion graphics, and visual media means he works comfortably within the studio’s hybrid approach. This allows the photography and videography sides of a project to work naturally together without feeling like separate productions.
Reece’s approach is relaxed and unobtrusive. Rather than staging moments, he prefers to let events unfold naturally, capturing genuine interactions between couples, families, and guests. Whether photographing a wedding, documenting a live performance, or producing editorial imagery, his aim is always the same: to create honest images that reflect the energy and emotion of the moment.
